ZapBridge - Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
ZapBridge is an Android app by Roshi Software Solutions Pvt Ltd ("Roshi", "we"). It backs up your SMS messages to a CSV file on your phone, or to your own Gmail. This policy explains what the app accesses, where that data goes, and how you can delete it.
In short
- ZapBridge has no servers. Your messages are never sent to us.
- Messages go only where you send them: a file you save, or emails sent from your own Gmail account.
- ZapBridge can only send email. It cannot read your Gmail inbox.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We don't sell or share your data.
- Turning off backup in the app signs you out, removes ZapBridge's access to Google, and deletes the app's stored data.
What ZapBridge accesses and why
SMS messages (received and sent)
- Export to CSV: when you tap "Export all SMS" or "Choose dates", ZapBridge reads your received and sent SMS for the chosen period and writes them to a CSV file. Android asks you where to save it. The file stays wherever you save it; we never see it.
- Real-time backup to Gmail (only if you turn it on): ZapBridge reads each new incoming SMS and emails it to you. It also checks for incoming messages that arrived while it wasn't running (for example after a restart), so they aren't missed.
- ZapBridge does not send SMS, and does not read SMS unless you use one of these features.
Your Google account email address
- When you turn on real-time backup, you sign in with Google. ZapBridge stores your Gmail address on your phone so it knows which account to send from and, by default, where to deliver the backups.
Other email addresses you add (optional)
- You can forward backups to a different address or add a CC address. Before ZapBridge uses one, it emails that address a 6-digit verification code, sent from your Gmail, to confirm it belongs to you or someone you trust.
App settings
- Your choices, such as send each SMS immediately or in batches, and whether the email footer is on.
Google user data (Gmail)
- ZapBridge requests one Google permission: gmail.send ("Send email on your behalf"). It uses it only to send your SMS backup emails, and verification code emails to addresses you add.
- ZapBridge cannot read, delete, or change any email in your account.
- Sign-in tokens are handled by Google Play services on your phone. ZapBridge doesn't store your Google password.
- ZapBridge's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Data obtained through Gmail is not used for advertising, is not sold, is not transferred to anyone else, and is never read by people at Roshi.
Where your data is stored
- On your phone, in ZapBridge's private app storage: your settings, your Google email address, any verified forwarding or CC addresses, and a queue of SMS waiting to be emailed. Sent messages are kept for about 7 days, then removed.
- In your Gmail account: the backup emails, which are stored by Google like any other email you send or receive.
- In the CSV files you save, in the location you choose.
- Nowhere else. Roshi has no server, database, or account system for ZapBridge, so we hold no copy of your data.
Sharing
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
- Your data only leaves your phone when you ask it to: by saving or sharing a CSV file, or by having ZapBridge send backup emails through Google's Gmail service.
- All network traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- ZapBridge contains no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, ZapBridge notifies you only when backup is paused. For example, when Google needs you to sign in again after a password change. It sends no promotional notifications.
Email footer
Backup emails end with a short note about Roshi's app development services. You can turn it off any time in ZapBridge → Settings.
Your choices and deleting your data
- Turn off backup: on the Home screen, tap "Turn off". This signs you out, removes ZapBridge's access to your Google account, and deletes everything ZapBridge stored on your phone (queued messages, addresses and settings).
- Revoke Google access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Uninstalling ZapBridge deletes all of its data from your phone.
- Backup emails and CSV files are yours. Delete backup emails in Gmail (search
subject:"ZapBridge"), and CSV files in your file manager; ZapBridge can't remove them for you. - Since Roshi keeps no copy of your data, there is nothing to delete on our side. Questions? Email zapbridge@roshi.in.
Children
ZapBridge is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
